One of the biggest reasons for creating MommyLuvs2save was to create a community of moms and dads who want to help their family save money when buying essentials in order to free up money for debt repayment. My own family has paid off over $111,500 in consumer debt including credit cards, student loan debt and 2 vehicles. I am a teacher at heart. I want to use the skills that I have learned to help YOU ditch debt. I want to encourage each of you in your efforts so that one day you can feel the freedom of being debt free. I’m not quite there yet either (we still have a mortgage) so I need encouragement as well
It can be very difficult to pay down debt. There are many temptations to spend money. We live in a culture that encourages debt and spending. In addition, expenses come up and there never seems to be any extra money for paying down debt. I want to urge each of you to participate in a challenge. Just leave a comment about one positive step you’ve taken for your family each day. Did you eat in instead of going out? Did you save money at the grocery store? Did you pay extra on your credit card? Leave a comment below and we will cheer one another on every day and every step of the way.
* I will also be sharing my progress from the day prior.
My Progress: I had a nice day yesterday. I spent it with my momma so that my dad could go to work for the day. We had a nice day together watching her shows. I made us tuna sandwiches for lunch. When I got home I made a simple dinner. A few Amazon items came. They were great deals. I have earned a bunch of free gift cards recently from Swagbucks. I cashed in for Amazon gift cards in order to get a special birthday present for one of the twins. I got her Apple AirPods. Kayla had gotten a pair for Christmas and Liv really wants a pair. The price before my gift cards was $130. I ended up paying $12 shipped. I was so excited. They’ll be here on Sunday, so I’ll wrap them and hide them because her birthday isn’t until Feb 13th. I’m sure she’ll love them. Kayla got a few of her wished for gifts for her birthday. We’re still talking about what food we’ll be getting for the party. It looks like it’ll be a chicken nugget tray from CFA. It’s a splurge, but I only have one party per year for the two of them and yes I know I’m rationalizing.
Liv went to a friend’s house to hang out for a few hours last night. Ro and I will be getting a Coronavirus vaccine today. We qualify because we work with special needs individuals. I wish that we could gift our vaccine shots to my parents so they’d be protected. We already had Covid, so we’re okay for awhile. I actually asked if I could gift mine to them, but nope it doesn’t work that way. You can’t blame a girl for trying. In any event I’m very thankful. I did all of my Bing searches.
So how about you ? What did you do ?? Let’s make 2021 our year !
