One of the biggest reasons for creating MommyLuvs2save was to create a community of moms and dads who want to help their family save money when buying essentials in order to free up money for debt repayment. My own family has paid off over $111,500 in consumer debt including credit cards, student loan debt and 2 vehicles. I am a teacher at heart. I want to use the skills that I have learned to help YOU ditch debt. I want to encourage each of you in your efforts so that one day you can feel the freedom of being debt free. I’m not quite there yet either (we still have a mortgage) so I need encouragement as well
It can be very difficult to pay down debt. There are many temptations to spend money. We live in a culture that encourages debt and spending. In addition, expenses come up and there never seems to be any extra money for paying down debt. I want to urge each of you to participate in a challenge. Just leave a comment about one positive step you’ve taken for your family each day. Did you eat in instead of going out? Did you save money at the grocery store? Did you pay extra on your credit card? Leave a comment below and we will cheer one another on every day and every step of the way.
* I will also be sharing my progress from the day prior.
My Progress: I had a decent day yesterday. We made it our mission to get up and clean the house. We put away all of the remaining Christmas decorations including the tree. Every year we move furniture around to set the tree up and our family room ends up a little cluttered. I enjoyed the holiday a lot, but it’s nice to get rid of all of the clutter. It feels like a fresh start to the year. I think the older I get, the less I can deal with clutter. I wish my twins felt the same way, but they’re perfectly content with it…
We gave away some things from our garage on my favorite giving site. The lady and her husband to go and pick it all up. We went to my sister’s house to hang out for a bit and to meet their new rescue dog. He’s 3 years old and adorable ! They gave us some food for Rudy that he refuses to eat, lol. Rudy was happy to eat some of it last night for dinner. My sister had gone to the local discount produce shop and bought us some veggies. I tried to pay her for it, but she wouldn’t let me. I made a gorgeous salad, which we’ll all be eating for the next few days. Ro and I are trying to eat a little lighter, so salads are our go to food right now. The girls and Ro were gone for most of the night because they had 2 basketball games. Unfortunately there are strict guidelines because of Coronavirus, so I couldn’t watch 🙁 Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. I enjoyed watching a few shows while they were gone. I did all of my Bing searches.
So how about you ? What did you do ?? Let’s make 2020 our year !
