One of the biggest reasons for creating MommyLuvs2save was to create a community of moms and dads who want to help their family save money when buying essentials in order to free up money for debt repayment. My own family has paid off over $111,500 in consumer debt including credit cards, student loan debt and 2 vehicles. I am a teacher at heart. I want to use the skills that I have learned to help YOU ditch debt. I want to encourage each of you in your efforts so that one day you can feel the freedom of being debt free. I’m not quite there yet either (we still have a mortgage) so I need encouragement as well
It can be very difficult to pay down debt. There are many temptations to spend money. We live in a culture that encourages debt and spending. In addition, expenses come up and there never seems to be any extra money for paying down debt. I want to urge each of you to participate in a challenge. Just leave a comment about one positive step you’ve taken for your family each day. Did you eat in instead of going out? Did you save money at the grocery store? Did you pay extra on your credit card? Leave a comment below and we will cheer one another on every day and every step of the way.
The challenge is to leave a comment about what YOU have done to work on getting debt free each day. One winner will be chosen to win a $50 Amazon gift card at the end of each month. To participate in the challenge y ou must comment on at least 10 posts during the month.
* I will also be sharing my progress from the day prior.
My Progress : Yesterday was a better day. I felt a little better and was able to rest for most of the day. We dropped of the mini van last night to get the headlight fixed and the inspection completed. I had a coupon to take a little off of the inspection and the headlight will paid in full thanks to the gentleman who hit me. I am hoping that the van doesn’t need anything to pass inspection, but you never know do you?
I did go to the bank to put a few checks in and to CVS to do a few deals. I was able to get the Aveeno lotion money maker and a few other deals. I didn’t want to push it so I came home and rested after those few errands. I have to remind myself to be still. I am planning a low key weekend. The only plans that I made prior to my injury were to meet my brother and his kids at the local bouncy place so that they can play together on Sunday. I have FREE passes so it should be good free fun. I told my brother about my ankle, but the place we are going to has benches for parents so I can rest my leg while we’re there. I may show my brother the house after the kids play. He still hasn’t seen it.
I did do a few online deals yesterday. I did the JCPenney coat deal that I posted about. The girls have size 5 coats from last year, but with the way they are growing, they may not last through the winter. I was able to snag 2 Rothschild 6x winter coats for $29.98 shipped to store.
What did you do ? Leave a comment You could be the November winner.
