One of the biggest reasons for creating MommyLuvs2save was to create a community of moms and dads who want to help their family save money when buying essentials in order to free up money for debt repayment. My own family has paid off over $111,500 in consumer debt including credit cards, student loan debt and 2 vehicles. I am a teacher at heart. I want to use the skills that I have learned to help YOU ditch debt. I want to encourage each of you in your efforts so that one day you can feel the freedom of being debt free. I’m not quite there yet either (we still have a mortgage) so I need encouragement as well
It can be very difficult to pay down debt. There are many temptations to spend money. We live in a culture that encourages debt and spending. In addition, expenses come up and there never seems to be any extra money for paying down debt. I want to urge each of you to participate in a challenge. Just leave a comment about one positive step you’ve taken for your family each day. Did you eat in instead of going out? Did you save money at the grocery store? Did you pay extra on your credit card? Leave a comment below and we will cheer one another on every day and every step of the way.
* I will also be sharing my progress from the day prior.
My Progress: I had a pretty good day yesterday. One of the twins (Liv) woke up with her bottom teeth hurting, so she stayed home from school. Both girls got their bottom braces on Wednesday, so I wasn’t surprised she was sore. I made her a cheese omelet for breakfast and she had leftover mac n cheese for lunch. I spent most of the day with my mom so my dad could work. I’ve been having a little trouble with a backache and it seems to hurt the most when I’m sitting. I tried to get up and walk around as much as I could. I’m really hoping it gets better soon. I have too much to do today to be in pain !! I made a big pot of spaghetti for dinner and we have some leftovers, which is nice. Kayla and I wanted ravioli, so I made some for us to share.
We are in need of some drywall repair and my sister’s fiancé is really good with drywall, so we are going to pay him to do it for us. He came over to start the process in the afternoon. I checked out the new grocery deals for this week, which start today. I’m already a few dollars over budget for this week, but I can still plan and I’ll do my deals on Sunday or Monday. Again I’ll try to keep it under $100 for the week. I did all of my Bing searches. I’m up to enough points for a $20 Amazon gift card in my account now. I’m trying to save up until closer to Christmas to see how much I can accrue by then. Hopefully it’ll be enough to take care of a few Christmas gifts 🙂
Let’s make 2019 OUR year !!! We can do it !!
